Being engrossed in some sort of activity during menstrual cycle helps to reduce the pain. Women who perform exercise during their menstrual cramps are believed to suffer from less menstrual cramps than the women who avoid exercising during menstrual cycle.

Exercise increases the blood circulation. Thereby increased blood circulation in pelvic region helps to reduce the menstrual pain. When people exercise it increase the release of endorphins. Endorphin is a hormone that helps in reducing pain. The kind of exercise does not matter, but doing it regularly does matter a lot.

Diet to During Menstrual Cycle

Vitamins and Minerals: In order to have fewer amounts of cramps and soreness on the body a person is advised to have more amounts of food rich in calcium, magnesium and vitamin E.

Ginger: Ginger is an important item that should be a part of meal during menstruation. Grind some ginger and put it in water. For having a sweet taste adds honey or sugar to it. Boil the mixture for about 10 minutes and then have the mixture 3 times in a day. Ginger tea is the favorite solution of every woman to get rid of the pain and cramps.

Basil: Basil has a pain killing property. It contains caffeic acid that helps to be free of pain during menstrual cycle. Basil tea is recommended during this phase. Basil tea has a very unpleasant taste, so some amount of cinnamon powder can be added over it. Some women prefer putting basil leaves in their food rather than having tea.

Flax Seed: The main reason for the menstrual cramps is the hormone named prostaglandin. Flax seed helps to lower down the amount of this hormone, thereby lessening the pain and the cramps. Flax seed can be added on top of yoghurt or salad.

Fruits and Vegetables: Having a proper and a healthy diet is the best method to less the cramps in body. Fresh green leafy vegetables such as cabbage and spinach are the best options during menstrual cycle. Fruits should be eaten with their skin to avoid menstrual cramps. Have foods that are made from 100% whole wheat. Consume high amount of fish during and before menstrual cycle.
